CHICKEN CHACOOTY

- Chicken 1
- Coconut 1
- Coriander 30
- Gram Cumin 1 Teaspoon
- Poppy seeds 1 1/2 Tablespoon
- Cardamoms 3
- Cinnamon 2 Gram
- Cloves 2 Gram
- Ginger piece 1 1/2 Inch
- Mustard seeds 5 Gram
- Peppercorns 2 Gram
- Garlic flakes 5
- Kashmiri chilies 12
- Onions 5 Large
- Turmeric piece 1 Inch
- Vinegar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
- Tamarind 5 Gram
- Bay leaf 2 (Few Are Required)
- Mace 1 Small
- Dagadful piece 1 Small (Badyani)
- Oil 1 Tablespoon
- Salt To Taste
Directions
1. Clean and joint the chicken. Apply salt.
2. Chop one onion, apply it to the chicken with vinegar, and keep aside. Slice ginger.
3. Fry all spices (except cumin, garlic, and mustard seeds) in a little oil till coriander
becomes golden brown, then add cumin, garlic, and mustard seeds and remove.
4. Slice one onion and saute till soft. Grate coconut and roast till light brown.
5. Grind spices with fried onion to a fine paste. Grind coconut coarsely separately.
6. Fry remaining onions, add meat and fry, then add spices, coconut, tamarind water, salt, and a little water; allow to cook on slow fire till done.
